Sow fresh seeds when ripe, may require scarification prior to sowing.
Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during winter and placed on a misting bench until roots appear.
Botanic information
Leaf: The ascending lobed leaves have a short petiole and are dissected deeply to the midvein with rigid pungent linear lobes that are up to 15 mm (? in) long. The margins are revolute enclosing the underside and the upper surface is a sparsely pubescent becoming glabrous.
Flower: The tubulate flowers have a pedestal up to 14 mm (? in) long with pubescent perianth segments to 10 mm (? in)long. The exserted pistil is up to 35 mm (1? in)long and the pollen presenter is oblique. They are arranged in a pendulous terminal raceme that is up to 60 mm (2? in) long and wide and appears from winter to early summer.
Fruit: The ovoid to oblong follicle is up to 8mm (? in) wide with a glandular pubescent pericarp and contains a single elliptical seed up to 9mm (? in) long with a papery wing. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
