Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during early spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle. Grow in pots for one season before planting out.

General pruning information
Eucalyptusspecies require little pruning apart from removal of damaged or dead wood, which should be taken off at the collar. If the tree is cut back hard it will produce epicormic shoots and the crown may be lifted or thinned by removal of selected branches.


Botanic information
Leaf: The bluish-grey sessile leathery leaves are ovate to orbicular up to 20 mm (µin) wide with margins that are tinged in red. The leaves are arranged oppositely at right angles and are closely packed along the reddish-grey stems.

Flower: The pinkish bud caps are conical and has a short pedestal and the flower opens with a mass of yellowish stamens. They are arranged in dense axillary cluster towards the end of the branches and appear from autumn to winter.

Fruit: The greyish hemispherical capsule has a short pedestal and a narrow green rim with the valves deeply enclosed. They are arranged in a cluster of 3-5 along the stems.
