Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. The seeds may require scarification and may take up to 2 year to germinate.
Take soft tip or semi hardwood cuttings with a node during summer and Insert in a well-drained but moist media and place in a protected environment until roots appear.
Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green almost a sessile leathery texture leaves are broad elliptical up to 50 mm (2 in) long and have serrated margins towards the acute apex. The upper surface is dotted in glands and the new growth is yellowish. They are arranged alternately and upright along the slender greenish branchlets.
Flower: The green tubulate flowers are 2-lipped with a curved lower lip and a 4 lobed upper lip that has a reddish brown stripe that runs down the corolla to the base. The 4-stamens slightly protrude from the corolla and small pointed green sepals attach to a slender reddish pedicle. The flowers appear in the leaf axils solitary or in a small cluster and the flowering period commonly occurs after good rainfall but is normally seen from spring to early summer.

The flowers are deeply camouflaged by the foliage and are difficult to find. They are pollinated by birds.
Fruit: The 2 to 4 chambered hard and woody drupe is indehiscent, dry and sometimes splitting at the apex. There are 1 to 3 hard-coated seeds per chamber and they are difficult to germinate. The plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
