Propagation
Surface sow fresh seed during spring in a well-drained media, and maintain a temperature of 16º to 18º C. (61º to 64º F). Prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle.Germination normally occurs within 1 to 3 weeks.
Botanic information
Leaf: The thick leathery textured narrow-ovate to broad -lanceolate adult leaves are up to 180 mm (7 in) long by 50 mm (2 in) wide and have an acute apex. The upper surface is glossy green and the underside is pale green and the petiole is up to 30 mm (1? in)long. The juvenile leaves are up to 200 mm (7µ in)long by 85 mm (3½ in) wide.
Flower: The buds are calvate to globular owner up to 15 mm (? in)long by 10 mm (? in)wide with a hemispherical operculum. When open the numerous exserted filaments are creamy-white or occasionally pink and that there are 3-7 flowers arranged in a panicle or umbel with pedestals up to 40 mm (1? in)long. They appear profusely over the tree from mid to late summer.
Fruit: The thick woody capsule is ovoid to urceolate with a constricted neck and are up to 50 mm (2 in) long by 40 mm (1? in) wide. They have a broad descending disk and the 4-valves are deeply enclosed. They contain numerous tiny dark seeds that are very viable.
