Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile ovate-lanceolate or elliptical, leathery leaves have an acute apex and slightly undulating margins. The new growth is pale green.

Flower: The crateriform flowers have 5-obovate pinkish petals that are arranged in a wheel-like shaped and have serrated claw-like margins and has a central boss of yellow stamens. There are 3-5 flowers are arranged in a terminal umbel that appears on the plant in summer or intermittently throughout the year. Bees are highly attracted to the blooms.

Fruit: The bright glossy red to crimson fleshy drupe contains orange pulp that when eating is sour to sweet. The small seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
