Stem cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The bright green sub-sessile lanceolate leaves have an acuminate apex and are silky pubescent on the underside.
Flower: The male and female silky haired catkins are found on different trees (dioecious). The greenish female catkins are up to 25mm (1 in) long and the yellowish male catkins 50 mm (2 in) long and appear during spring.
Fruit: The small capsule contains seeds that are covered in fine hair. The fruit is not commonly seen and the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
