Propagation
Sow fresh seed from autumn and allow up to 2 years to germinate.
Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer.

Note:
All parts of this plant are toxic and if ingested it will causing stomach upset and or vomiting.

Culture
This shrub is long lived in but dislikes root disturbance and responds to an autumn mulch that feeds the roots during spring. Pruning should be carried out while the plant is dormant in late winter.


Botanic information
Leaf: The bipinnate leaves have 9-elliptical to ovate leaflets that are deeply incised with an acute apex. The upper surface is dark green and the underside is blue green with a few hairs along the mid rib.

Flower: The large single flowers are cyathiform to crateriform with up to 10-petals that are rose-pink to white with a magenta blotch at the base. They appear solitary towards the end of the branches during early summer.

Fruit: The horizontal follicles contain numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
