Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate in cool climates.

Botanic information
Leaf: The variable sessile leaves are elliptical-oblong to oblong-lanceolate with an acute apex. The grey green upper surface is marked in a translucent dots and the underside is glaucous.

Flower: The stellate flowers have 5-grey green sepals with a reddish acuminate apex and 5-oblanceolate petals with a central boss of exserted yellow stamens. They are arranged in a terminal cyme that appears abundantly over the plant during summer.

Fruit: The capsule is urn-shape with 3 to 5 valves and contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
