Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn in pots and place in a open frame to germinate.

Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring to early summer.
Root cuttings during winter.


Botanic information
Leaf: The broad ovate leaves are up to of 150 mm (6 in) wide and have a cordate base and a acuminate apex. It has a slender petiole up to 80 mm (3? in) long and the leaves are pubescent on the underside. The leaves turn black before falling during autumn and when crushed have a foul smell.

Flower: The white 2-lipped campanulate flowers are marked in purple and yellow in the throat and petals have frilled margins. They are arranged in a upright panicle that is up to 300 mm (1 ft) long and appear amongst the foliage from mid to late summer.

Fruit: The long cylindrical pods appear in a pendant cluster and split open during spring, releasing white paper seeds that are up to 25 mm (1 in) long and have tuft of hair at the end. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
