Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in containers and place in a cold frame to germinate.
Stem cuttings taken during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The soft textured leaves are covered in stellate hairs and have an acute apex and a short petiole with longer hairs at the base. The upper surface is a dark green and the underside is greenish cream. The leaves are arranged densely along the stems.
Flower: The crateriform flowers have 4-greenish sepals that form a tube and 4-spreading petals. They are arranged in an axillary cluster on an upright unbranched scape and appear during late spring.
Fruit: The capsule is an inflated sack-like and contains numerous seeds but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
