Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots.

Semi-hardwood cuttings taken during summer and apply rooting hormone to the wound. Maintain a warm humid environment until rooting occurs.


Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile broad-ovate leaves clasp the stem with a cordate base and the apex is acuminate. It has a slightly scaolloped margins and the underside is pale green. During winter in dry climates the foliage is completely shed.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have green narrow-ovate ribbed sepals and 5-imbricate pale blue to mauve petals. The tubular yellow-white throat is pubescent on the outside and the pedestal is long. The flowers appear singularly in the upper leaf axils from spring to summer.

Fruit: The small club-shaped dehiscent capsule opens longitudinally and has 2-valves with flat seeds. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
