Plant out during spring or autumn; avoid planting the shrub during winter to reduce the chance of root rot.


Botanic information
Leaf: The grey green linear leaves are terete in cross-section and have an obtuse to acute that may be mucronate. They are arranged oppositely in alternate pairs at the end of short woody pegs along the stems

Flower: The small crateriform flowers have pink or mauve, rarely white petals that are up to 8 mm (? in)long and fringed sepals up to 4 mm (? in)long. The peduncle is up to 7 mm long (¥ in) long and the flowers are arranged in terminal cluster. Under ideal conditions flowers appear during spring or sporadically throughout the year.

Fruit: The tiny capsule contains the numerous fine seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
