Propagation
Sow fresh seeds in containers during spring and keep moist until germination occurs.

General pruning information
This plant tolerate a light prune to a node normally after flowering. Do not prune into old wood as it will not regenerate and if the plant has become leggy and woody it will not regenerate after a hard prune, it requires replacement.


Botanic information
Leaf: The flat narrow oblong to broad linear leathery textured leaves are up to 25 mm (1in) wide with 15 longitudinal veins. The colour varies from grey green to dark green.

Flower: The red to pink, sometimes white tubulate flowers have an exserted style to 17 mm (? in) long and a pedestal up to 4 mm (? in)long. They are arranged in a dense axillary raceme that is up to 150 mm (6 in) long appearing towards the end of the branches from late winter to early spring.

Fruit: The reddish brown to greyish woody follicle is up to 18 mm (? in) wide with a distinctive dorsal groove on each valve. It contains winged seeds that are up to 20 mm (µ in) long by 12 mm (½ in) wide.
