Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and apply bottom heat.
This plant has also been grafted on to G. robusta, using top wedge, whip and mummy grafting techniques.

Botanic information
Leaf: The variable flat silvery green leaves are (simple) linear to obovate with entire margins up to 170 mm (6µ in) long overall or are divided into lobes (pinnatipartite) that are up to 130 mm (5? in) long by 35 mm (1? in) wide. They have an accumulate apex and a long slender petiole. The upper surface is slightly silky or glabrous with a prominent mid-vein and a lower surface is villous with a prominent mid-rib.

Flower: The small flower has a pedestal up to 8 mm (? in)long and the ovoid-oblong yellow-orange to red perianth segments are up to 15mm (? in) in length (curled at first) witha protruding yellow pistil to 22 mm (µ in) long with an oblique pollen presenter. The flowers are arranged in an a erect terminal 3-6 branched raceme that is up to 50mm (2 in) long and is accompanied by spreading silky bracts up to 5 mm (? in) long. The flowers appear from winter to early spring or sporadically during autumn and early winter and are pollinated by birds.

Fruit: The oblique (lens-shape) follicle is up to 30mm (1? in) long by 28 mm (1? in) wide with a green-brown glabrous slightly granulose pericarp up to 3 mm (? in) thick. The flat obovate seeds up to 15 mm (? in) long by 10 mm wide and encircled by a membranous wing. The small seeds are viable but the plant is can be reproduced vegetatively with some difficulty.
