Botanic information
Leaf: The pointing linear leaves are terete with a groove along the underside and pointed apex that tends to curved downwards. They are arranged alternately to spirally densely along the stems.

Flower: The small tubulate flowers are cylindrical in bud and split open with 4-recurved segments that form a star-shape with 4-protuding curled stamens. The pedicle is up to 8mm (?in) long and the flowers are arranged solitary or in a small cluster in the leaf axils at the end of the branches. They appear during early spring.

Fruit: The berry-like oval green to reddish drupe has a fleshy exocarp with a persistent style. The small seeds are viable but may be difficult to germinate and the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
