Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Semi hardwood cuttings taken from spring to summer and apply bottom heat.


Botanic information
Leaf: The flat linear leaves have a short petiole and are up to 3 mm (2/16 in) wide with an obtuse to mucronate pungent apex. The margins are entire and revolute and enclosed the lower surface of the leaf. Thedark green upper surface is slightly pubescent and the underside is glabrous with a prominent midvein.

Flower: The small almost sessile tubulate flowers have pale green to pinkish oblong perianth segments that are up to 7mm (¥ in) long and a protruding pale pink style to 20mm (µin) long.

The flowers are arranged in an erect terminal or axillary, domed raceme up to 30mm (1?in) long and accompanied by broad-elliptical papery bracts up to 14 mm (? in) long. The flowers open consecutively from the apex and appear during spring.

Fruit: The narrow obovoid follicle is up to 6mm (¥ in) wide with a brown glabrous pericarp and contains a single ovoid seed to 12mm (½ in) long and is slightly winged. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
