Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).
Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile leaves are linear to narrow obovate up to 1 mm wide with an acute apex that is not pungent. The dark green upper surface is a glabrous and the underside is covered in silky hairs. They are arranged densely-upright along the stems.
Flower: The small tubulate flowers have a silky pedestal up to 4 mm (? in)long and the oblong silky white perianth segments that are up to 5mm (¥ in) in length. They are split to the base and strongly curled backwards the new witha protruding in curved style that is up to 10mm (? in) long.
There are 6-12 flowers arranged in an a terminal raceme that is up to 50mm (2in) long and accompanied by ovate-acute bracts up to 2 mmlong. They are shed as the flower opens. The flowers appear from late winter to early summer and are pollinated by birds.
Fruit: The ellipsoidal follicle is up to 4mm (? in) wide with a faintly warty pericarp and contains a single oblong seed to 6mm (¥ in) long with a waxy ridge long one side. The small seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
