Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification (peeling treatment).

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during early autumn and apply bottom heat.
This species can also be grafted onto Grevillea robustaand G. 'Poorinda Royal Mantle'.

Botanic information
Leaf: The blue green sub-pinnatisect leaves have a short petiole and consist of 8-24 rigid narrow linear lobes that are up to 10 mm (? in) long by 1.5 mm wide. The pungent lobes are closely aligned and ascending with recurved margins that obscure the silky underside that has a prominent mid-rib.

Flower: The tubular flowers have a pedestal up to 12 mm (½ in)long and the oblong-ovoid perianth segments are up to 12 mm (½ in) in length and a variable in colour from the green to red or pink and grey and have aexserted pistil up to 40 mm (1? in) long. The flowers are arranged in a erect cylindrical terminal raceme up to 150 mm (6in) long from a trailing (ground hugging) peduncle that may be branched and are accompanied by silky ovate bracts up to 1.2 mm long. The flowers appear from spring to early summer and are pollinated by birds.

Fruit: The glabrous spherical-ovoid follicle is up to 16mm (? in) long by 12 mm (½ in)wide with 2-broad transverse ridges. The oblong-ellipsoidal seeds are up to 9 mm (? in) long by 5 mm (¥ in) wide and are wrinkled with a central raised ridge that is enclosed by a broad membranous channel. The seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
