Propagation
Sow fresh seed in trays during spring and prick out when large enough to handle. Seeds may also be sown in situ.


Botanic information
Leaf: The small oblanceolate leaves are divided into 8-10 lanceolate lobes that may be divided again. The apex is acute and the petiole is short. It has a bright green upper surface and the underside is dull green and when crushed the leaves are foul smelling.

Flower: The small pink-purple tubulate flowers are topped in crimson and has 4-petals with the 2-outer being spurred. It also has 2 scale-like sepals and 6-stamens in 2-bundles. There are 10 to 40 flowers arranged in a loose raceme that appears during spring.

Fruit: The tiny rounded green to brownish nuts appears in clusters on a short stalk along the stem.
