Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in containers and maintain a warm humid environment.
Division of the clump during autumn.
Note:
In very cold conditions this perennial is herbaceous and should be mulched to protect the rhizomes.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green long linear leaves are up to 7 mm (¥ in) wide and have minute translucent serrations along the margins.
Flower: The small pale violet to almost white campanulate flowers have 4 to 7 tepals and no petals and are arranged in a dense raceme with a violet rachis. The raceme is held amongst the foliage on an erect violet-brown scape and appear during late summer.
Fruit: The shiny greenish berries are fleshy and contain 1-2 seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
