Propagation
Plant tubers (rhizome) or pieces of tuber that includes an eye up to 400 mm (16 in) apart at a depth of 100 mm (4 in).


Botanic information
Leaf: The dull green pinnate leaves have 3 to 5 ovate leaflets with an acuminate apex and a cordate base. In cold climates the leaves are herbaceous.

Flower: The white to pale violet rotate flowers are arranged in pendant cluster that appears during spring.

Fruit: The yellowish green globular berry contains the numerous viable seeds and are inedible as they contains toxins. The plant is normally reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.

Culture
Plant tubers after the frost period has passed and as the plant develops build the soil up at its base to cover the growing tubers and support the plant.

Tubers that are exposed to sunlight turn green and have a bitter taste. Potato should be harvested after the foliage has died off and prior to the ground becoming frozen. They should be then stored in a dark place at a temperature of 4° C (40°F).
