Propagation
Sow fresh seed from spring to summer in pots. Germination occurs in 4-weeks and can be planted out within 12-months.

Cuttings of non-flowering shoots during summer.


Botanic information
Leaf: The variable glabrous dark green leaves are oval to circular or elliptical with an entire to an irregularly toothed margin. The apex is abruptly acuminate and the petiole is up to 50mm (2in) long.

Flower: The small bisexual cyathiform flowers have a short pedicle and are arranged in a corymbose cyme that appears during spring.

Fruit: The globose to ovoid drupe is shinny pinkish-yellow maturing black and has the persistent saucer-shaped calyx at the base. The outer surface is fleshy (sticky when squashed) and the hard stone contains up to 4-seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
