Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured elliptical leaves have serrated margins and a short pale green petiole and mid rib. The upper surface is dark green with a prominent pinnate venation and the underside is pale green. The apex is obtuse to acute and the leaves tend to droop.

Flower: The sessile cyathiform flowers have a green toothed calyx and 5-spreading rounded petals that are white suffused in pink. The tiny brown-red stamens are arranged around the base of the petals and the style is exserted. The flowers are arranged in an upright compound terminal panicle that appears in spring.

Fruit: The small drupes appear in pendant clusters and the seeds are very viable.
