Propagation
Terminal stem cuttings up to 76 mm (3 in) long or stem cuttings taken during spring and laid horizontally in flats on a moist media. Maintain warm temperature and humidity.
Botanic information
Leaf: The variable leaves are narrow-oblong to narrow-elliptical or oblanceolate and are up to 150 mm wide. The apex is abruptly acuminate and fleshy petiole is up to 300 mm (12 in) long and clasps the stem.
Flower: The spadix has a peduncle up to 180 mm (7 in) long and is surrounded by a spathe that is up to 50 mm (2 in) tall. It appears amongst the foliage during summer but in tropical climates the flowering period may be variable.
Note
The spadix is covered with the unisexual flowers that have no perianth segments and some female flowers are located towards the base.
Fruit: The ellipsoidal berry contains a single seed and is arranged in clusters. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
