Propagation
Soft tip cuttings up to 50 mm (2 in) long during spring or semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer. Place in a well-drained media with added organic material, and maintain a warm humid environment.


Botanic information
Leaf: The ovate to lanceolate leaves have a long acuminate apex and a short petiole. They are arranged oppositely along the stems or in a whorl of three beneath the flowers and the margins are entire to minutely serrate.

Flower: The tubulate flowers have a green calyx that is divided almost to the base and the long corolla is curved with the expanding lobes that are bright orange at the apex, shading to yellow towards the base and in the throat.

The creamy white style is strongly exserted from the tube and there are up to 20 flowers are arranged in a terminal cluster. The flowering period is from summer to early winter but this may vary in tropical climates.

Fruit: The small 2-valved capsule contains the numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
