Propagation
Division of the clump during early spring.

Take root stem cuttings during the growing period. Pot up into a well drained media and place in a warm humid environment.


Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile leaves are elliptical to lanceolate with a long acuminate apex and are arranged in 2-ranks along the greenish stems. The mature leaf upper surface has whitish flex`s towards the margins and the underside is purplish.

Flower: The deep-violet campanulate flowers have 2-upper petals are overlapping and the lower petals droop downwards. They are arranged in an upright compact terminal raceme that appears during summer.

Fruit: The dehiscent capsule is green maturing to black and contains 1 to 2 seeds with an orange aril. The small seeds are viable but the plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
