Propagation
Sow fresh seeds during autumn and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Division of the clump during spring.
Softwood cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.

Note
All parts of the plant if ingested it may cause a stomach upset and contact with the sap may irritate the skin.


Botanic information
Leaf: The fleshy leaves are linear to lanceolate with an acute apex and the surface has a crinkly appearance. They are light green suffused in red with young foliage being completely red and are arranged in inward pointing tuft like groups towards the end of the stems.

Flower: The stellate flowers are arranged in a terminal panicle-like cyme that is held above the foliage during early summer. The tiny yellow flowers have 5-sepals and petals with small spreading stamens and appear during early summer.

Fruit: The small star-shaped follicle produces numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
