Botanic information
Leaf: The small sessile dark green linear leaves are covered in downward pointing soft silvery hairs and the lower leaves are divided into 3-deep lobes. They have a fleshy texture and the apex is obtuse.
Flower: The solitary rotate flowers have white ray florets and yellow stellate disk florets and are surrounded by numerous small obovate bracts that are covered in fine silvery hairs. The flower heads are held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 150 mm (6 in) long and appears from spring to late summer.
Fruit: The tiny achenes are cylindrical or ribbed and have a small wing. The papas may be absent or appear on a short crown and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
