Propagation
Sow fresh seed during early spring and pre-soak seeds in heated water 13º to 18ºC (55º-64ºF) for 24 hours. Seeds may require scarification.
Semi-hardwood tip cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The dark green weeping pinnate leaves have 20-40 obovate-oblong pubescent leaflets with an obvious midriff on the underside. The almost sessile leaflets have an obtuse apex that maybe notched.
Flower: The golden yellow papillionate flowers have a silky tomentose calyx that is up to 10mm (? in) long with a standard up to 30mm (1? in) long. The keel is up to 40mm (1? in) long and there are 4-10 flowers arranged in a raceme that appears during spring.
Fruit: The glabrous woody brown pods are tomentose when young and are restricted between the seeds with a broad wing. There are 6-10 brownish to golden yellow seeds that are up to 8mm (? in)long. The small seeds are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
