Botanic information
Leaf: The clear bright green leaves are broad-elliptical to ovate with undulating dentate margins. The petiole and the underside is densely covered in soft pubescents and the apex is acuminate.
Flower: The pendant funnelform flowers have a softly pubescent tubular green calyx with 5-lobes and 5-spreading petals. They are arranged in a terminal cyme that appears above the foliage on a leafy scape from late winter to mid-spring.
Fruit: The small fruit consists of 4-smooth nutlets with an annular basal rim. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
