Propagation
Sow seed when ripe or during spring in pots and place in a protected environment.
Tip cuttings taken during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The small sessile glossy dark green lanceolate leaves have a pointed apex. The underside has fine pubescents and the leaves are arranged in opposite pairs towards the end of the stems.
Flower: The small salverform flowers have a pubescent calyx and a long tube with 5-spreading petals. They are solitary or 2-3 are arranged in a small axillary cyme that that appears from late spring to early summer.
Fruit: The small 3-valved capsule contains the numerous seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively to maintain true to type.
