Propagation
The outer bulb scales whitish to maroon. Lift and separate offsets as the leaves die off during early summer or during early autumn, before the new roots develop. When planting, space the offsets 80 mm (3 in) apart.
Sow fresh seeds when ripe in pots and place in a cold frame to germinate. Two year old seedlings should be planted in a nursery bed and grown on until flowering begins and this can be up to five years time.
