Propagation
Surface sow fresh seeds during spring and prick out when the large enough to handle.
Division of the rhizome during late winter and place in a well-drained media. Take care not to over water as the plant rots easily.
Botanic information
Leaf: The thick textured fleshy leaves linear and 3- ranked towards the acute apex and almost triangular to cylindrical in cross-section. The upper surface is a flat on the underside is semi-cylindrical and the leaves tend to curve upwards.
Flower: The bright yellow crateriform flowers have 5- calyx lobes and numerous linear petals with a central upright boss of stamens. They appear solitary or in clusters of 3-5 from late spring summer.
Fruit: The small capsule contains numerous tiny seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
