Propagation
Collect and clean fresh seed then sow in a well drained moist media, stratify for 2 to 3 months and germination takes up to 12 months.
Semi hardwood cuttings taken in summer and placed in a well drained media on the misting bench and roots appear within 8-weeks.
Plants may be grafted or layered.
Difficult to transplant as it has very fine roots.
Note:
All parts of this plant are poisonous and if ingested it will cause stomach upset.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured leaves are obovate to oblong up to 20mm (µin) wide. The apex is obtuse and the base is cuneate with a very short petiole.
Flower: The white tubulate flowers have a cylindrical calyx tube with 4-spreading, pointed lobes and up to 20-blooms are arranged in a terminal cluster that appears during late spring.
Fruit: The white or pink spherical drupe is fleshy and produces viable seeds but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
