Propagation
Sow fresh seed during autumn and in cold climates place in a cold frame.

Division of the clump (rhizome) during spring.
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.


Botanic information
Leaf: The basal leaves are oblong elliptical and arranged in a dense a rosette and the stem leaves are linear with an acute apex. The leaves are covered densely in silvery hairs and young foliage is yellow maturing to dark green.

Flower: The cyathiform flowers have 4-spreading petals with exserted stamens in the throat, green sepals and slender pedestal. They are arranged in an open corymbose raceme that is held above the foliage and appears during spring.

Fruit: The long and narrow small siliqua (capsule) has flat valves at the base and contains seeds that may be winged. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
