Propagation
Sow seeds when ripe. They require four months stratification at 4° C. prick out and pot up when large enough to handle.
Take Semi hardwood cuttings taken during early summer.
Division of suckers during the dormant period.

Care should be taken as the fruit is toxic if ingested.
Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are oblong to oblanceolate, dark green above and grey green on the underside with a prominent venation. The petiole is short and the apex is acute.
Flower: The white, slightly almond scented campanulate flowers have 5-sepals and petals with up to 15 protruding stamens and 5-10 blooms are arranged in a pendant raceme that is up to 100 mm (4in) long. The male and female flowers appear on different plants (dioecious) from late winter to spring.
Fruit: The female plants produce ovoid purple black fleshy drupes in pendant clusters on a reddish peduncle. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
