Sow fresh seeds during autumn and place in a cold frame to germinate.

Division of the rhizome during early spring prior to flowering buds opening.


Botanic information
Leaf: The palmately lobed leaves have 5 to 9 lobes that are pointed and have serrated margins and are up to 150 mm (6 in)wide. The base is cordate with overlapping lobes and the long thick petiole is reddish towards the base. The upper surface is mid green and the underside is pale green.

Flower: The small creamy white campanulate flowers have 6-petals with 6-larger sepals and 6-stamens. The ovary is yellow tinge in orange and the divided stigma is yellow. The flowers are arranged in an open panicle that is held above the foliage on a slender greenish scape during late spring.

Fruit: The small capsule contains numerous seeds, but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
