Botanic information
Leaf: The pendant glossy dark green oval leaves are arranged alternately or oppositely in unequal sizes. The apex is obtuse and the petiole is short and reddish.

Flower: The tiny, petalless flowers have exserted showy stamens and numerous flowers are arranged in an axillary umbel-like corymb that is up to 20 mm (µin) wide. They appear during early summer.

Fruit: The small berry is pale mauve to white and the small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
