Botanic information

Leaf: The sessile leaves are almost tubular with a notched acute apex that offered has plantlets attached. It is pale green to pale brown and the upper surface is modelled in dark brown with only slight central groove.

Flower: The campanulate flowers have purplish sepals and red petals that expand towards the end. They are arranged in a pendant cluster that is held above the foliage on a slender greyish scape during late winter.

Fruit: The small dry follicle contains numerous seeds that are very viable and self so readily. The plant is normally reproduced vegetatively.
