Propagation
Sow fresh seed when ripe or during early spring and place in a cool greenhouse. The seeds germinate easily.

Semi hardwood cuttings taken during summer and placed in warm protected humid environment under mist. Over watering courses rot. The cuttings root up easily, under ideal conditions.


Botanic information
Leaf: The narrow obovate leathery leaves are up to 30 mm (1? in) wide glossy green above with a pale green mid rib, dull green beneath and the apex is obtuse. The margins are slightly recurved and petiole is short. They are arranged alternately in a whorl along stems.

Flower: The small sweetly scented perfect tubulate flowers have a tube with 5-spreading spathulate petals and a long pedestal. There are numerous blooms arranged in a terminal umbellate cluster and open white then ages to creamy yellow and appears from lat spring to early summer.

Fruit: The globose 3-valved capsule is green maturing to black-brown and splits open it reveals reddish oblong seeds. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
