Botanic information
Leaf: The long arching ensiform leaves tends to droop towards the long acuminate apex and the base is arranged into a tight spiral. The margins are unarmed.
Flower: The small male and female flowers appear on different plants (Dioecious) but are rarely seen. The fragrant male flowers appear in spikes that are accompanied with bracts and the female flowers are arranged in a globose head and appear during spring.
Fruit: The drupe is globose and contains numerous seeds that are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
