Propagation
Collect and sow seed when ripe, keep moist, maintaining a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

Germination normally takes up to 30 days and the viability period is short. Do not allow the seeds to dry out before sowing as this inhibits germination.


Botanic information
Leaf: The arching dark green pinnate fronds have up to 15 oblong leaflets on both side of the rachis each with several ribs and a truncate apex that is deeply toothed. The orange to deep yellow petiole is very short and the orange-red crownshaft is a feature of the plant.

Flower: The tiny cyathiform flowers are arranged spirally on the lower part of the panicle in groups of three, 2-male and 1-female and pairs of male flowers appear in the upper inflorescence. The twice branched yellow panicle appears below the crownshaft during spring.

Fruit: The oblong drupe is reddish-orange is up to 10mm (?in) wide and is arranged in pendant clusters. The fruiting period may vary in tropical regions
