Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in pots and place in an open frame to germinate and keep moist.
Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy green leaves are cordate to oval with an overlapping cordate base. The apex is obtuse with a small point and the upper surface is corrugated with pinnate venation. The thickish petiole is up to 200mm (8in) long. The leaves die off in the dormant period.
Flower: The white salverform flowers have 6-expanding obovate petals and 6-exserted stamens with yellow anthers. They have a long pedicle and are arranged in an umbel that is held above the foliage on a scape that is up to 500mm (20in) tall and appears during early summer.
Fruit: The capsule contains small seeds that are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
