Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).
Soft tip cuttings of non-flowering shoots during late spring and semi hardwood cuttings taken during late summer.
Air layering during the growing period.
Botanic information
Leaf: The sessile dark green leaves are ovate to oblong-ovate with prominent light green pinnate veins. The apex is acute and the underside in light green.
Flower: The small 5-petaled pink crateriform flowers have 8-10 yellow stamens with elongated white anthers and a long pedicle. They are arranged in a pendant panicle that is up to 400mm (16in) long and accompanied with several large pink leaf-like basal bracts. They appear from spring to early summer.
Fruit: The berry is crowned by the persistent calyx lobes and the seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
