Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring and maintain a temperature of 19º to 27º C. (66º to 81º F).

This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery.


Botanic information
Leaf: The leathery textured leaves are narrow-obovate with a short petiole and the leaves are crowded towards the end of the branches. The upper surface is dark green with a yellow-green mid rib with reticulated veins. The leaf turns red before falling and new leaves appear soon after.

Flower: The tiny stellate flowers have 5-calyx lobes and no petals with 10-excerted stamens. They appear twice a year in a terminal spike that is up to 150mm (6in) long on a short peduncle. The tree is polygamodioecious. The flowering period is during spring but can vary in tropical regions and they may appear throughout the year.

Fruit: The globular fleshy drupe has no wings and is green maturing to blue.
