Propagation
Sow fresh seed during spring in pots and in cold climates place in a cold frame to germinate.
Stem cuttings of non-flowering shoots during the growing period.

Note:
If plant parts are ingested they may cause stomach upset and contact with the milky sap can cause skin irritation.


Botanic information
Leaf: The glossy green leaves are bipinnate to tripinnate with up to 9-oblong-ovate leaflets to 180 mm (7 in) long. Each has an acuminate apex and the puckered upper surface has prominent pinnate venation. The new foliage is flushed with a bronze hue.

Flower: The tiny tubulate flowers have perianth segments that are united at the base forming a tube and expand at the apex. The base of the filaments form a tube that is united to the perianth and the ovary has 5-cells. The flowers are arranged in an erect terminal cyme that is up to 200 mm (7µin)wide and appears during summer.

Fruit: The small red-black ovoid berry has a fleshy exocarp and contains 4-5 seeds that are viable but the plant can be reproduced vegetatively.
