Botanic information
Leaf: The thin textured oblong to obovate leaves are glabrous above with an obtuse to acute apex and a petiole that is up to 15mm (?in) long. The underside, twigs and young branches are covered in brown to white felty-down.

Flower: The almost sessile campanulate flowers have 6-oval perianth segments that are covered in minute soft velvety hairs and have 6-opposing stamens. They are arranged in an axillary panicle towards the end of the branchlets and appear during midsummer.

Fruit: The globular fleshy drupe has the scar of the persistent calyx lobes at the top and contains a single seed. When dried the outer surface of the fruit becomes ribbed. The seeds are viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
The flowering and fruiting period may vary in tropical regions.
