Botanic information
Leaf: The leaves are ovate to broad-ovate with an acute to acuminate apex. The upper surface is glossy dark green and the underside is pale yellow-grey covered in tiny stellate tomentose. It has a short petiole and the margin is slightly serrated to entire.

Flower: The small stellate flowers have 5-spreading petal-like sepals with a stellate appearance and a long pedicle. They are arranged in a large axillary cymose panicle that is pubescence and appears during spring but can vary in tropical regions and the flowers may appear throughout the year.

Fruit: The ovoid capsule is covered in fine pubescence. The small seeds are viable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
