Botanic information
Leaf: The glabrousbroad ovate to ovalleaves have an acute to mucronate apex and a petiole up to 4mm (?in) long which is accompanied with a pair of spines on the stem. The texture is thick and leathery.

Flower: The white tubulate flowers have 5-spreading slightly obovate petals and a short pedicle. They are arranged in small axillary cluster that appears during spring.

Fruit: The purplish-black ovoid berry is editable and contains a single seed that isviable but the plant is commonly reproduced vegetatively.
