Propagation
Sow seed when ripe in trays and prick out and pot up when they are large enough to handle. Grow on in pots for one season before planting out.
Semi-hardwood tip cuttings taken during summer apply bottom heat.
Botanic information
Leaf: The small dark green leaves are elliptical-oblong to broad ovate with an obtuse apex and a petiole up to 4mm (?in) long. The leathery textured leaves are arranged on short lateral pubescent branches
Flower: The tiny male tubulate flowers have 4-sepals and 4-oblong longer petals and the female flowers are simular to the male but have a short style with a disk-like stigma that has 3 to 5 lobes. They are solitary or arranged in a small cyme in the leaf axils and appear on different plants (dioecious) during spring.
Fruit: The small blue-black globose berry contains 1 to 4 seeds thatare viable but the plant may be reproduced vegetatively.
